RSPB Birdfeeder Pocket Book Résumé

RSPB Birdfeeder Pocket Book Robert Burton

One of the outstanding pleasures of having even the smallest of gardens is to watch the wealth of birds that will visit throughout the year to feed bathe and eventually nest there. We are entertained by our colourful and noisy visitors and their absorbing and often baffling habits. For many of us putting out extra food and water for the birds is as natural a part of winter as donning an overcoat. The cold months make us remember just how valuable the garden is for birds especially at a time when increasing pressure on the countryside leaves less room for its original inhabitants. But which are the gardens for birds? What foods should you put out? Why do birds sing? How do birds repair their feathers? Where do they nest? Why d o some species form flocks? What should you do if you find an injured bird? The RSPB Birdfeeder Handbook offers all the answers to your questions and a host of practical suggestions to tempt more birds to visit. Feeding the birds is only the first step to getting to know them more fully. Robert Burton conveys his expert knowledge of the latest scientific findings in a lively style that together with breathtaking photographs will significantly enhance every reader's understanding and appreciation of the varied lives of birds. The RSPB Birdfeeder Handbook is a compelling read and an indispensable reference tool. It will provide you with a rewarding hobby that is not only tremendous fun but that also contributes to the preservation of birdlife. Whether you have a garden backyard or only a window-sill this book will ensure that you get the most out of the delightful birds that visit while they get the most out of you.
