Iona Opie is considered to be the world's leading expert on children's lore and literature, and has edited many acclaimed books including I Saw Esau, illustrated by Maurice Sendak. Speaking of Mother Goose's Little Treasures, she says that the rhymes are the most mysterious fragments from our shared memory: long-ago laughter of little meaning and echoes of ancient spells. She lives in Hampshire. Rosemary Wells is a well-loved and prolific creator of picture books with a career that spans more than thirty years, with books including the famed Mother Goose anthologies and Felix and the Worrier (9780744598322).
