No Mean Feat Résumé

No Mean Feat Mark Inglis

Mark Inglis has transformed his life. Since becoming an amputee at the age of 23 he has been a research scientist, and has made medal-winning wines, Lindauer and Deutz Marlborough Cuvee, with Montana Wines. He won a silver medal cycling at the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games. In 2002, to his great joy, he stepped onto the summit of Mt Cook again. Many New Zealanders will remember November 1982, when Mark Inglis was trapped with fellow climber, Phil Doole for 13 days, in a ice cave near the summit of Mt Cook. Suffering raging blizzards, a near rescue, a helicopter crash and severe frostbite, both men were finally lifted from the mountain. During time spent in the burns and spinal units of Burwood Hospital in Christchurch, both men had their legs amputated below the knee. NO MEAN FEAT is an inspiring story of remarkable courage and determination. For Mark Inglis, challenge in life is paramount and every new adventure brings with it the opportunity to live life to its fullest.
