The second edition of this text takes account of the considerable changes that have taken place in health care education and in the delivery of health services during the last ten years, as well as recent developments in health psychology.

À propos de Jan Walker

Dr Jan Walker is Senior Lecturer at University of Southampton. She is a health psychologist with a background in health visiting. Her research interests focus on chronic pain and well-being, particularly in later life. Sheila Payne is Professor of Palliative Care at the University of Sheffield. She is a health psychologist with a background in nursing. Sheila leads the Palliative and End-of-Life Research Group at the University of Sheffield. Her research agenda focuses on: psychological aspects of palliative and end-of-life care for older people, and psychological aspects of loss and bereavement. Dr Paula Smith is Lecturer at the University of Sheffield. She is a health psychologist with a background in community nursing. She has been involved in teaching aspects of applied psychology and health to both undergraduate and postgraduate nurses and health professionals. Her research interests are in psychological aspects of family caregiving in end-of-life situations within the community. Dr Nikki Jarrett is Lecturer at the University of Southampton. She is a health psychologist with a nursing background. She teaches psychology to both pre- and post- qualified student nurses. Her research interests are in cancer and palliative care and communication in the health care setting.
