This title is a catalogue in two parts, the first exploring the life of Anatole Demidoff, a flamboyant Russian emigre, and the second examining 80 of the paintings and works of art that he amassed, which now form part of the Wallace Collection. One of the aims of the catalogue is to provide an insight into taste and connoisseurship in the 19th century.
