Diabetic Nephropathy Résumé

Diabetic Nephropathy Christoph Hasslacher (St Josefskrankenhaus, Heidelberg, Germany)

This volume will focus on and emphasise the clinical relevance of diabetic nephropathy, a relatively common problem of diabetes. It affects about one in three patients with Type 1 diabetes, and left untreated can lead to a progressive decline in renal function, accompanied by retinopathy and arterial hypertension, which, in turn, leads to cardiovascular disease - a common cause of death in these patients. Diabetic Nephropathy will also provide the reader with a solid grounding in current basic and clinical research.

Diabetic Nephropathy Avis

"...a helpful addition to the library of medical professionals dealing with diabetic patients...providesa more comprehensive...significantly cheaper alternative to Nephropathy in Type 2 Diabetes in the Oxford Clinical Nephrology Series...." (Doodys, March 9, 2002)

"The information enriched my perspectivesthis is an excellent and richly documented synopsis of a complicated area of medicine" (Diabetologia, November 2002)
