Sonas: Celtic Thoughts on Happiness Résumé

Sonas: Celtic Thoughts on Happiness Catherine Conlon

Whether revealed as something to be glimpsed, grasped, sought after or savoured, here a host of Irish people express what happiness means to them, in diverse and often deeply personal ways. Not all are well-known, but each one has done something fulfilling and lasting in their lives.

The pieces in Sonas: Celtic Thoughts on Happiness reflect the philosophies, motivations and spiritual paths that can help us to keep an optimistic eye to the future, even in troubled times. A book to bring a smile to your face.

Contributors include Bertie Ahern, Derval O Rourke, Michael Flatley, Peter McVerry, Patricia Casey, Alice Taylor, Vincent Browne, Fintan O Toole, Patricia Scanlan, Sebastian Barry, Seamus Heaney, Francis Brennan, David Norris, John O Shea, Sr Stanislaus.

À propos de Catherine Conlon

Catherine Conlon has a degree in Medicine and is a lecturer in Public Health at UCC. Her keen interest in matters health-related gave rise to the idea for a book that would explore the depths beneath the superficial distractions of modern Irish life: consumerism and noise. A mother of four living in Cork, she cites winning the Young Scientist Exhibition as a schoolgirl in 1981 as a turning point in her life, making her realise that she could do anything if she wanted it enough. Happiness, for her, comes from stopping to think and see, valuing silence, mindfulness, compassion and, above all, following your own path.
