Diving South East Asia Footprint Activity & Lifestyle Guide Résumé

Diving South East Asia Footprint Activity & Lifestyle Guide Beth Tierney

The newest addition to Footprint's burgeoning series of activity guides, Diving South East Asia, introduces divers to the world's most diverse marine environment. This truly comparative guide includes over 400 popular sites, all of which have been dived, reviewed and photographed by experienced husband-and-wife team, Beth and Shaun Tierney. From the pristine, isolated reefs of Indonesia's Spice Islands to the lively marine and land environments in The Philippines' Puerto Galera, there's something for everyone. The guide also features personal opinions and anecdotes from both experts and other divers, as well as recommendations of what to do and see on dry land. It has unique fusion of sport and travel. It includes colour photography and mapping throughout. 'Drying Out' sections list the best of the sights for non-diving partners. It features helpful listings of where to stay, eat and drink and who to dive with.

À propos de Beth Tierney

Way back in the 80s we did a round-the-world trek spending long spells in the tropics, floating over vivid coral reefs and wishing we were down below with the divers. At the time our budget didn't extend to learning to dive but within months of returning to London we signed up for a BSAC course, did our first open water dives in the Maldives and all our qualification dives in Cyprus. A few years went by and we became increasingly involved in the diving world as a photo-journalist team with editorial work covering both land and dive travel, marine biology and conservation. A few years later, we took a 'career break' and aimed to dive our way around the world. We didn't manage to see as much as we wanted but it was a great year and led to being published in many international dive magazines, newspapers, travel guides and on the internet. Since then, we have become PADI Master Scuba Divers and our work has become increasingly focussed on dive travel books. We have been lucky enough to return to many of the places we first visited in the 80s and are slowly managing to reach all the other diving destinations we missed in the past. Together, we now run SeaFocus, an information and image-based resource for scuba divers with an ever growing gallery of underwater photos from well known scuba diving holiday destinations across the world along with marine species galleries and information files.
