This is an attempt to provide a comprehensive guide to designing and making clothes for both the beginner and more experienced dressmaker. The first part considers general design techniques, part two discusses cutting a design and in part three the construction of a garment is explained, basing the methods on industrial processes which dispense with many of the time-consuming techniques of commercial patterns.
