1913. No Edition Remarks. 217 pages. No dust jacket. Vol. II: The Anglo-Saxon: His Part and His Place. Charcoal cloth with gilt lettering to front boards and spine. Pages are uncut. Contains fold-out illustrated frontispiece. Gilt upper text block edge. Pages are fairly bright with light tanning and moderate foxing to free endpapers and text block edges. Pencil inscription to front paste-down and half title page, with a few small nicks and creases along text block edge. Occasional grey thumb-marking present throughout. Minor dog-eared corners. Slight cracking and crinkling to gutters with exposed netting. Binding remains firm. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with mild bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Moderate tanning to spine and edges, with visible crushing to spine ends. Boards are mildly bowed. Small splits and fraying to upper spine end. Gilt lettering is bright and clear. Pale liquid drop on spine.
