1866. No Edition Remarks. 543 pages. No dust jacket. Half bound in red leather with red embossed cloth covered boards with gilt lettering. Volume I. Black and white illustrated frontispiece with black and white illustrations throughout. Moderate foxing and tanning to pages overall. Page corners are slightly ripped dog-eared throughout; text remains legible. Visible scuffing to pastedowns. Gutters and hinges are cracked with the netting exposed but pages remain attached. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with visible scuffing and marking overall. Spine has light sunning with minor wearing and crushing to raise bands and ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Lettering remains bright and clear.
