Driving cross country in a rusted-out Suburban is not exactly Rita Clarkson's idea of a good time. But it's a chance for some much-needed family bonding with her three siblings while they fulfill their mother's last wish: for them to participate in the Polar Bear Plunge in Coney Island on New Year's Day. It's also a chance for Rita to decide on her next career move. Her life hasn't turned out quite how she planned, and she isn't sure where to go or what to do.
