Tantalizing Tidbits for Teens Reviews

"The pages of this book are packed with a lot of valuable information for librarians who do booktalk programs and would like some current titles or for those who wish to get started. Author Ruth Cox-Clark's choices are current with several 2005 copyrights and each entry has everything a person needs to do a good job. For each of the 75 titles the following information is provided: bibliographic, author's Web site, at least three subject headings, genre, grade level, an annotation, a sample booktalk, page numbers for possible excerpts, curriculum connections with quick ideas and activities, and a list of other similar titles. The author provides information about professional reading lists and book awards aimed at this age level. Techniques are discussed. Cox-Clark includes several useful indices: authors, titles, and subjects. She concludes with an evaluation form that can be handed out to listeners to quickly see how the presentation went. After reading through this title, I found lots of usable material. There are also several books I want to read and booktalk. This book really gives librarians who have not done much booktalking a good start. For those who have little time, and are getting busier and busier, it gives new fast ideas. Highly Recommended." - Library Media Connection
