From turtle fishing to spirit dances to getting arrested when washed ashore after a storm on the wrong side of the border, this book combines a curiosity in the human flotsam and jetsam that litter the coast with a shrewd eye for its history; the Miskito and Garifuna Indians have since time immortal been visited with one tin pot pseudo-monarchical regime or another, and the results were, and are, in turn both hilarious and tragic.
