A Psychology for Living: Personal Construct Theory for Professionals and Clients by Peggy Dalton
This is an attempt to make the ideas of George Kelly accessible to those who have little or no formal psychological training but feel the need for a coherent framework for their understanding of themselves or others. Kelly's theory is increasingly applied in a wide range of settings, especially those concerned with therapy, education and other areas where such understanding is essential. Many professionals, be they therapists, teachers, social workers, or personnel managers, find that this approach both enhances their work with clients, pupils, students and fellow workers and helps them personally to deal more effectively with the difficulties and dilemmas which face them in their own lives. It is hoped that by a process of interweaving theoretical ideas and practical examples, the essence of a meaningful view of personality may be conveyed.
