460 Iris Folded Cards to Make Reviews

Iris Folding is a beautiful way to create and design cards.
The effect is stunning, just like looking into the center of a camera and with a few neat folds and colourful paper, you can achieve almost any picture. From starting your project, the design, paper choice and size, triangle circles and squares, and other shapes are formed into a spectacular showpiece. Instructions that are easy to follow are given in visual and written format and the templates are full sized but can be adapted to each card specification.
You can use scrap pieces of paper, such as newspaper, junk mail etc so no special tools are really required. Even the smallest member of your family can do this craft, I imagine a rainy afternoon of fun and creativity will make everyone happy. This colourful glossy book is beautifully presented. Complete with techniques, hints and tips it is a good teaching guide and absolutely perfect for any papercrafter.

This is the ultimate iris folding book containing all the patterns from the previous three compendiums, which in turn contain the patterns from the small square books that papercrafters know and love. But if you are new to the hobby and don't know what it is all about don't worry, for some basic instructions are given. These are not quite as basic as those in the original booklets however, which helpfully explained all about how the hobby came about and what you need to obtain, how to cut and prepare it etc. Instead, the patterns are grouped in three basic sections; depending on what basic shape they are based upon. I couldn't find any mention of the width of strip needed or how to fold it, so I would rate the book as being definitely aimed at improvers; any beginners reading this had better get hold of one of the original books, or one of Search Press' own iris folding books.

Here though is a treasure trove of patterns, all of them shown made up to give inspiration and with brief instructions. There are patterns for Christmas and Easter, new baby, celebrations, invitations and any time you need a card. Cats, pots, clothes, plants, parasols, eggs, abstract shapes, wine glasses etc are all here, together with many more and once you have the hang of it, here is a wonderful way of recycling old envelopes, unwanted mailshots, wrapping paper and any other paper you might otherwise throw away. Was being green ever such fun?!
