Handbook of Psychological Assessment in Primary Care Settings, Second Edition Reviews

Review A: Assuming the book produces what it proposes, I would highlight the fact that the book provides the most in-depth coverage currently available of the variety of assessment measures shown to be useful in primary care settings, covers the range of issues commonly treated in primary care settings; and includes information for pediatric, adult and geriatric populations (i.e. a one stop shop for the busy clinician in a primary care setting to learn about the array of assessment methods and measures to use). Yes. It is timely. There is no other resource out there currently for primary care except the 2000 version which is quite out of date.-- Professor Barbara Cubic, PhD., University of Maryland

Review B: The Author seems very knowledgeable on the subject. The first sections on background are well conceived and relevant of the role of health psychologists in the primary care medicine field. However the major part of the book is devoted to testing detailes, descriptions etc. I am not at all certain that primary care coces (PCPs) will have much interest in this aspect of the book.-- Don Lipsitt, MD,Harvard University
