Summary
Jakob is caught breaking the curfew in a Jewish ghetto towards the end of the war. Usually this would mean death, but the sleepy sentry lets him go. Overhearing news about the near liberation of the ghetto on the sentry's radio, Jakob tells his friends, but is forced to lie about where he heard it.
