Like a Saturday morning cartoon, Thomas's (Let's Count Goats!) rowdy characters and simple plot unfold in a series of scenes that build up to the one-joke resolution.... Thomas's illustrations energetically emphasize the cows' frenetic energy and the chicken's frustration, which are sure to draw giggles. When the cows decide that napping is the only thing left to do, collapsing in a heap on the sofa, it's not hard to imagine preschoolers doing the same.
