Jennifer Saunders - the Biography by Jacky Hyams
Jennifer Saunders is Britain's best loved comedienne, screenwriter and actress. As the daughter of an RAF pilot, Jennifer's young years were defined by constant upheaval between schools across the country. But in 1977, Jennifer found direction when she joined the Central School of Speech and Drama and met a like-minded soul by the name of Dawn French. It was the genesis of a celebrated double-act which would lay the foundations for Jennifer's meteoric rise to the top. It was only after putting in many hours on the comedy circuit that Jennifer teamed up with the loveable Dawn French to make her indelible mark on British comedy television with their show French and Saunders. But the best was yet to come. Inspired by a throwaway sketch from the French and Saunders days, Jennifer wrote a brand new series: Absolutely Fabulous. Her role as 'Eddie' Monsoon was to bring her international acclaim. In July 2010, Jennifer was to face her toughest challenge yet - being diagnosed with breast cancer. She has since made a full recovery and reprised her role as Eddie for an Ab Fab 2011 Christmas special. This is Jennifer Saunders' full, unauthorised story.
