About Harley J. Spiller

Harley J. Spiller is a museum educator and inveterate collector of the effluvia of New York (The New Yorker, 22/09/2008). His award-winning collections have been exhibited in museums around the world, from the Smithsonian to El Museo de Bellas Artes in Caracas. Named by Art & Antiques magazine as one of the nation's Top 100 Collectors, Harley has been profiled often by the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and NPR; and selected twice for Art in America's Exhibitions of the Year. Harley's writing about collections has been published by Abrams, Columbia University Press, The University of California Press, and the New York Times (Weight of the Past, his full-page, full-color Op-Art piece from the Sunday Week In Review).
