Decoupage: An Illustrated Guide by Nerida Singleton
Decoupage is the creative art of decorating hard surfaces with paper cut-outs, and sinking them under many coats of varnish to give an inlaid effect. In this book, Nerida Singleton gives clear, detailed and easy-to-follow instructions of all the processes involved in creating decoupage. She includes three projects in the book, each with step-by-step instructions: a simple tablemat, which can serve as a practice piece, a wooden box; and a hat box. Nerida explains the design considerations that need to be made when working on larger objects such as screens, how to work with rounded objects, and techniques for antiquing decoupage. She gives lots of hints throughout the book and has a section at the back of the book for solving problems that may arise. The colour photographs show the rich beauty of the many different objects to which decoupage has been applied.
