Pages are moderately tanned and foxed throughout, heavier at end-papers, paste-downs and text-block edges. Front free end paper excised. Previous owner's inscription to reverse of frontispiece. Some occasional mild cracking to gutters throughout, binding is shaky. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Moderate crushing to spine ends, with splitting, fraying and loss to the head, tail and joints. Gilt lettering is darkened. Moderate tanning to spine.
