1775. No Edition Remarks. 387 pages. Fully bound in brown leather with raised spine strips and gilt lettering on red spine label. Unpaginated table of diseases to rear. Armorial bookplate of Thomas Allen to front pastedown. Pages are moderately tanned and foxed throughout, heavier at end-papers, paste-downs and text-block edges. Ex Libris plate to front pastedown. Previous owner's inscription to front and rear free end-papers. Heavy cracking at the hinges with exposed binding material. Binding remains reasonably firm. Slight pencil mark to one page of herb index. Boards have heavy edge-wear with bumping to corners, crushing to spine ends and rub wear all over. Leather is rubbed with peeling, loss, and staining. Split to front hinge at the top of spine. Boards are bowed. Gilt lettering is bright and clear with some distortion to text and label beginning to loosen. Small stain to text block long edge.
