Mustn't Grumble Zusammenfassung

Mustn't Grumble Terry Wogan

Written in a style familiar to his millions of listeners, rich with warmth and irony, Terry introduces his post-Emergency Ireland, his chain-smoking maiden aunts, his quick-witted mother and hard-working father, the (not so) Christian Fathers who tried to knock his hands off and explains how - exactly - he's managed to avoid a hard day's work from childhood to Knighthood. As never before Terry discusses his life with the BBC, what he really does at the Eurovision every year and where he learnt to breakdance so brilliantly. It is the autobiography his fans - and TOGs - have been waiting for: fresh, honest and a real craic.

Mustn't Grumble Bewertungen

'a master of the well-polished anecdote... the legions of TOGS (Terry's Old Geezers or Gals for the unitiated) will savour every sentence.' -- Simon Evans PARK & HOLIDAY HOMES 'Although reading his words can almost conjure his dulcet tones, with this audiobook there is no need as Terry talks about his life and career. Children in Need, Wogan, the Eurovision, and TOGs (Terry's Old Geezers), all feature heavily in this, his second, but very funny and worthwhile, autiobiography.' IRISH FARMERS MONTHLY '[another] eminently entertaining memoir [which has] certainly grabbed my attention ... not surprisingly enhanced by the narration of the man himself.' -- Vidar Hjardeng THE BOOK MAGAZINE

Über Terry Wogan

Terry Wogan was born in Limerick and educated at Crescent College. After leaving college Terry went into banking, if only he'd stuck to it he'd be retired now(!), and five years later joined Radio Telefis Eirann as a newsreader/announcer. Moving to light entertainment as a disc jockey and host of TV quiz and variety shows, in 1969 Terry stood in for BBC Radio's Jimmy Young and later that year was given his own daily shows on BBC Radio 1 and 2. In 1972 he took over the prestigious morning show slot and it's been downhill since then. Terry's extensive television credits include his live chat show series WOGAN, SONGS FOR EUROPE, THE EUROVISION SONG CONTEST, COME DANCING and BLANKETY BLANK, to name but a few. In 1993 Terry rejoined BBC Radio 2 to present WAKE UP TO WOGAN the most listened to breakfast show in the UK. In a moment of weakness Her Majesty the Queen honoured him with a knighthood in 2005. He is married to the sainted Lady Helen, the present Mrs Wogan, and has two sons and a daughter. Terry Wogan was born in Limerick and educated at Crescent College.
