Written especially for adults, this is part of a three-stage course taking students from beginner to intermediate level. It can be used both with beginners and "false" beginners, as the activities are designed to allow for different levels of response. Authentic materials are introduced from the start and students are given the opportunity to use what they have learned in "real" situations. The course uses universal themes and topics to encourage students to see English in its international context and they are invited to compare and contrast the cultures of other countries with their own experience. This students' book contains 20 units, including four consolidation units, plus a starter unit, providing material for 90-120 hourse of teaching.
