First published in 1986 as the Academie du Vin Guide to French Wines, this revised edition is in a new format, similar to that of the author's Academie du Vin Wine Course. It provides information on Appellation Controlee, VDQS and vin de pays wines, and takes the reader around the wine regions of France. In each region, the appellations are profiled with key facts on grape varieties, alcohol content, amount produced and wine styles, plus recommendations on the best producers.
