In the summer of 1991 five students went home for the holidays. They formed a band, called it "Radiohead" after a "Talking Heads" song, and by December 1991 had been signed by EMI. That beginning was the first step in the band's musical odyssey. "Radiohead" now has a strong fan base, which identifies with the mix of uneasy calm and angst to be found in their songs.
