The Motor Makers Martin Adeney
A popular history of the making of motor cars in Britain from before World War I, through the mass production between the wars, to the successes and failures since 1945. It traces the fortunes of the major manufacturers, and relates the fluctuations of the car industry to Britain as a whole. Martin Adeney is the Industrial Editor of BBC Television News, and has previously been industrial correspondent for "The Sunday Telegraph" and labour correspondent for "The Guardian".
