The Staffordshire Moorlands: Then and Now Lindsey Porter
This is a comparison of bygone scenes in the Staffordshire Moorlands compared to the same scene today. This book will surprise its readers with the degree of change the area has seen. Some of the scenes photographed 40 years ago now appear very different, while in other places the change is more benign. There are also some exciting photographs from 100 years ago contrasted by more contemporary equivalents. Both nature and man continually alter our landscape, so this book is a useful reminder of the subtlety of one and the more drastic hand of the other.
