Immortal Rain Zusammenfassung

Immortal Rain: v. 3 Kaori Ozaki

Rain catches Machika as they both fall and land safely on a snowy plain. The two are found in the snow by the doctor who healed Machika in Volume 1 and gave her Kiki. The doctor brings them inside 600 year old ruins, Methuselah's hometown, the Angel's Graveyard where he is performing research. Freya is preserved perfectly in the ice, and Rain sets her violin down at her feet. Rain keeps silent, despite Machika's pleas to let her in the know. Rain finally opens up a little to Machika as the two attempt to sleep, admitting to Machika that he suffers when he's with her since it makes him remember what sadness is. As he dreams, his past is finally revealed. His childhood was during a time of war, and this is a primary influence between his upbringing, particularly regarding the existence of God. Rain's transformation to immortality is outlined as is Yuca's own immortality. Yuca is continuously reborn and his constant rebirth has made him tired. He wants to kill all of mankind so that he can die. He makes a bet with Rain, if Rain can still believe in humanity then he must continuously kill Yuca everytime he(Yuca) is reborn. Otherwise Yuca will keep trying to destroy the world. As the story of Rain's past ends, Machika stands in front of the frozen Freya crying. Also in this volume is an extra chapter concerning Machika's youth.
