A new concept in reference books, this text combines a dictionary with an encyclopedia. Each dictionary entry provides modern definitions, parts of speech and examples of correct usage for more difficult words. Extended encyclopedia entries are integrated alphabetically into the dictionary and indicated by arrowheads. Features of this combined dictionary/encyclopedia include separate entries on all the countries of the world, plus location map, information panels, and a list of common abbreviations.
