L'Autre is an album of 90 photographs of passengers on the Paris Metro taken by Luc Delahaye between 1995 and 1997 using a hidden camera. Accompanied by an original text in French by major cultural theorist Jean Baudrillard and an English translation, L'Autre is an exploration of the relationship between the photographer and his subject, and a revealing investigaton into the meaning of the human image.

Über Jean Baudrillard

Luc Delahaye was born in France in 1962. Since 1989 he has photographed many of the conflicts around the world, receiving numerous awards including the Robert Capa Gold Medal and, most recently, the Oskar Barnack Award 2000 for the Winterreise photographs. He became a member of the Magnum photo agency in 1994.

Jean Baudrillard is a French cultural theorist and philosopher whose writings on Postmodernism, Marxism and contemporary culture have been hugely influential internationally.
