Cuckoos Zusammenfassung

Cuckoos Giuseppe Manfridi

A skeleton in the cupboard, a doctor in the house and coitus ad infinitum on the living room floor...In Giuseppe Manfridi's delightfully obscene comedy, directed by Sir Peter Hall for the Gate Theatre in 2000, Beatrice, Tito and Tobia discover that the future holds a different past for them. Cuckoos is a tragi-comic retelling of the Oedipus legend.

Cuckoos Bewertungen

Manfridi's salacious word-play and innuendo are infectious - a piercing black comedy, a nightmare with surreal, farcical undertones Nicholas de Jongh, Evening Standard The most delightfully, exhilaratingly, intoxicatingly indecent play I have ever seen...a treat Sunday Times Directed with a wonderful sureness of touch by Sir Peter Hall...Hall's terrific cast deliver 75 minutes of, er, uninterrupted pleasure The Independent An Ortonesque sense of rude rebellion...there's a delicious subversiveness about Manfridi's surreal farce Herald
