Part of a series which introduces children to various habitats in the wider context of the seasons and life cycles, this book shows children the many plants and animals to be found in a pond. Simple captions in large type have been added for the benefit of the younger or less able readers, as well as the more advanced text. Following a brief introduction, the book is divided into four chapters - one for each season. At the end of each chapter there are suggested activites, including how to make your own pond and how to look after it through the seasons. A double-page illustration at the end of the book shows a cross-section of a pond through the seasons.
