Santina M. Levey is an expert in 16th- and 17th-century textiles. She worked at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London for 20 years, the last 9 of them as Keeper of the Department of Textiles. She first visited Hardwick Hall in 1967, since when she has become the foremost specialist on the textiles there. Her publications include An Elizabethan Inheritance (The National Trust, 1998), an introduction to the Hardwick collection.
