As a journalist, Jane McLoughlin wrote extensively about the conflict in Ulster for the national press. She was the Guardian women's editor and a leader writer on the Independent; and wrote the Facegrinder and Enemy of the People columns for the late, lamented Punch; also, The Ugly Sister for the Guardian. Her ten novels were published by Virago, Robert Hale, Severn House and Quartet - including The Unforgiven (ISBN 9780704371255). She has written five works of non-fiction, and has twice been a judge of the Golden Dagger Awards. She is married to the comic novelist Stanley Reynolds and lives in the West of England.
