James Brandon is a senior research fellow at the Centre for Social Cohesion.He has an MA in Middle Eastern Studies from the School ofOriental and African Studies (SOAS). He has worked as a journalist forthe BBC, Bloomberg and al-Jazeera, and has reported on Islamic issuesfrom Europe, the Middle East and Africa. His previous reports for theCSC include Hate on the state: How British libraries encourage Islamic extremism and Crimes of the Community: Honour-based violence in the UK.
