Eric Midwinter is Visiting Professor of Education at the University of Exeter and Chairman of the Community Education Centre, Coventry. From 1980 to 1991 he was a Director of the Centre for Policy on Ageing. Over a long career as a social historian, educationist and social policy analyst, he has played a prominent role in public and voluntary service. Well known as a writer, broadcaster and consumer champion, he has also won critical acclaim as a cricket historian and as an expert on British comedy. The author of more than forty book, he is currently editor of the MCC Yearbook.
