Charles Dempsey is Professor of History of Art at The Johns Hopkins University and author of Annibale Carracci and the Beginnings of Baroque Style and The Portrayal of Love: Botticelli's "Primavera" and Humanist Culture at the Time of Lorenzo the Magnificent (Princeton).
