She received her doctorate from UCLA in art, education, and the psychology of perception. She speaks regularly at universities, art schools, and businesses, including the Walt Disney Company and Apple. She lives in Santa Monica, California, and is a consultant at many leading creative businesses. Her method of teaching people to draw uses the brain research carried out by Professors Jerome Bruner and Roger Sperry.
