Born and raised in Switzerland, Barbara Kastelin knows the plight of those forced to leave their country of birth; her father's family fled St Petersburg at the October Revolution and they coloured her childhood with their larger-than-life personalities. She studied copywriting and design at the New School in New York before working for the UN Secretary General. Barbara is the author of The Parrot Tree (Matador, 2016).
