His biographies include those of baseball star Tony Gwynn, media magnate Ted Turner, the late conductor Herbert von Karajan, and polio pioneer Dr. Hilary Koprowski. Vaughan has also written about the America's Cup, ocean racing, and NASCAR, and has co-authored Wind, a feature film. He covers yacht racing for ESPN.
