1847. No Edition Remarks. 324 pages. Full bound brown leather with gilt lettering and decoration. Contains black and white illustrated plates. Gilt text block edges. Pages are bright, with moderate tanning and foxing to free endpapers and text block edges. Former owner's inscription to front free endpaper, with a pencil inscription to paste-down. Guttering is slightly crinkled, with loose dried petals. Minor dog-eared corners. Plates are moderately tanned and foxed overall. Occasional grey thumb-marking present throughout, with a few small nicks along text block edge. Boards have heavy shelf-wear with notable bumping to corners, crushing to spine ends and considerate rub wear to surfaces. Heavy tanning to spine and edges, with large splits down joint and across spine. Book has a slight forward lean. Gilt lettering is bright and clear.
