Pages are moderately tanned and foxed throughout, heavier at end-papers, paste-downs and text-block edges. Heavy cracking at the hinges with exposed binding material. Previous owner's inscription to front paste-down and end paper. Boards have heavy edge-wear with bumping to corners, crushing to spine ends and rub wear all over. Cloth has minor damp and dust stains. Mild crushing to spine ends, with fraying cloth and small splits. Areas of loss to head and tail. Moderate tanning to spine. Gilt lettering is bright and clear.
