The Works 2 Summary

The Works 2 by Brian Moses

The Works 2 really does contain poems on every primary-school subject and for every occasion, but it is also a book packed with fantastic poems that will delight any reader. It is a well-crafted anthology which relates literacy work across the curriculum.

It has poems about Maths, Science, Geography, History, Religious Education, Information Technology, Design and Technology, Music and Art - plus good choices for assemblies and other themes such as citizenship and the environment. It also has a section dealing with subjects such as bullying, a new baby, death, changing school and making friends.

A book packed with gems for dipping into time and time again.

About Brian Moses

Brian Moses has been a professional poet since 1988. He spends half his time writing and the rest of the time visiting schools across the UK and Europe, to perform his poetry and percussion show. His poetry books include Behind the Staffroom Door: The Very Best of Brian Moses and A Cat Called Elvis . His solo collections and anthologies for Macmillan have sold over 1 million copies and he is featured on the National Poetry Archive. He is co-author (with Roger Stevens) of What Are We Fighting For? - a new collection of war poems written especially for a younger audience to be published by Macmillan in January 2014. Brian lives in a small Sussex village with his wife and their loopy Labrador.
