John Andrews received his Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Sidney in 1956, his master of Architecture at Harvard University in 1958. After practising and teaching in Canada, he returned to Australia, where he was a member of the Royal Institute of Architects New South Wales Chapter Council (1970-72), and an Architectural Juror for the Australian Archives National Building (1979) and the Australian Parliament House Competition (1979-80). He was a Board Member of the Visual Arts Board of the Australia Council (1977-81) and Chairman of the Architecture and Design Panel of the Australia Council. He is the recipient of many awards from Australia, Canada and the United States, including the Royal Australian Institute of Architects Gold Medal in 1980. Jennifer Taylor is a Senior Lecturer in Architecture at the University of Sidney. She began her architectural education in England, and graduated as Master of Architecture from the University of Washington, Seattle, in 1969. She has travelled extensively, and her writings on contemporary architecture in Australia, Japan and the Netherlands have appeared in various architectural journals throughout the world.
