David Alderton is an internationally best-selling authority on pets and their care. His books have currently sold over four million copies worldwide, and they are now available in 25 languages. David is the former chairman of the National Council for Aviculture, and has been breeding and keeping birds for over 30 years. David contributes to a wide range of general and specialist publications. He writes a syndicated weekly newspaper column on petcare, and is a consultant to the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council, based in Washington, DC. He has given talks on all petcare subjects at a variety of national and international seminars, is a frequent participant in radio programmes, and has appeared on television on numerous occasions.
