Fundamentals of Surgical Practice Reviews

'This book sets out to instruct the basic surgical trainee and to cover the unified syllabus of the new MRCS and AFRCS Ed examinations. I believe that it achieves this in a clear and succinct manner... It fills the gap which currently exists between the Royal College Course Manual and the purer surgical texts.' Injury
'The design is refreshingly practical and integrates modern clinical practice with the level of basic science demanded in the current fellowship... with the new integrated curriculum the content should be of use across the continuum of examination parts and throughout Basic Surgical Training. Busy trainees will appreciate the concise and practical additional reading recommended in each section.' Journal of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh
'This is one of the few surgical textbooks where coverage of problems of the muscle and skeletal regions is included ...The selection of subjects follows recommendations given by the Royal College of Surgeons and the book is well presented, in paperback, with good print quality and a well-arranged layout. For all those who want a comprehensive and clear survey of the most important surgical subjects, this book is recommended without hesitation.' Ake Andren-Sandberg, Haukeland Hospital, Norway
'Together [the editors] bring a wealth of publishing and examining experience in order to co-ordinate the contributions from many well-respected and extremely experienced chapter authors in a formal manner. ... I would have no hesitation in recommending this book to trainees at an early stage of their training in order to guide them effectively to the core syllabus topics and since it provides a substantial portion of the detail required from the MRCS.' Annals of The Royal College of Surgeons of England
