About Ted Hughes

Ted Hughes wrote numerous collections of poems, stories and plays for adults and children. He was the Poet Laureate for the last fourteen years of his life, and was appointed to the Order of Merit in 1998. In 1976 he became Founding President of Farms for City Children, a charity which still brings disadvantaged children from urban areas for a week to work on a farm in the countryside.
